Welcome to the Sustainable & Environmental Chemistry Group, Department of Sustainable Bioproducts, Mississippi State University. Our research focuses on exploring innovative concepts and strategies for the utilization of renewable biomass resources to sustainable biofuels, biomaterials, and value-added chemicals. We are especially interested in research in lignocellulosic biomass to liquid fuels and value-added chemicals, fast pyrolysis of biomass and bio-oil upgrading to transportation fuels, development of low-cost porous carbon materials for environmental applications and energy storage, and nanocellulose-based composite for water treatment.
